Harvest@TheWoodward and Shoppe@TheWoodward

The Woodward Development Corporation, the downtown arts development organization managing the restoration of the Woodward Opera House, has now opened the Shoppe@TheWoodward.  This new downtown retail store is now opened and located at 105 South Main Street. “We have always envisioned a Shoppe in the Woodward promenade area that would serve as a retail outlet for merchandise emphasizing products made in Mount Vernon and Knox County, as well as theater, music, and the arts” explained Pat Crow, project manager for the overall Woodward facility. The store will be managed by Lisa Blubaugh, a veteran downtown merchant.  “I am excited to be back downtown in the retail trades,” said Lisa, “and I am looking forward to re-acquainting myself with many of my former customers.” Products at the new Shoppe@TheWoodward include Cat's Meow, OSU gifts, Root and Cake candles, Boyd's Bears, Bearington Bears, handcrafted jewelry, Ben Heggy & Harry London chocolates, handwoven rugs, handcrafted gifts & musical CD's by local artists, primitives, victorian, and traditional decor, and antiques. The Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau will relocate their downtown Visitors Center materials into the front portion of the Shoppe.  This will allow for the Center to expand the hours in which it will be able to serve those seeking visitor information in downtown Mount Vernon. The Shoppe will eventually be a point of contact for other facility related tasks, including such things as ticket sales, reservations, and other programming associated with the Woodward. Store Hours Monday - Friday 11:00 am - 6:00 pm Saturday 10:00 am - 3:00 pmClosed Sundays Net Proceeds will be used for the benefit of the Woodward Opera House restoration project.
